    This client with headquarters in the US, has a 128K leased line to the Internet. Yukthi provided an Internet access gateway with a firewall and DMZ. The firewall also has the capability of NATing peer-to-peer VPN connections. Specific application hosts in the DMZ were given secured external access with a 1:1 NAT facility on the firewall. This client has also been provided with a mail server and DNS, which sits in the DMZ.

    Net effect: Software license fees saved - Rs. 7 lakhs (US $16000).

    Yukthi's solution to this client includes 1:1 NAT, Mail servers and Load balancing across multiple Internet links. The mail server implemented provides POP, SMTP & Web (browser) based access. The load balancing solution uses source based routing to utilize existing bandwidth efficiently.

    Net effect: Software license fees saved - Rs. 15 lakhs (US $35000).

    This customer has five development centers spread across India and the US. Yukthi has provided a firewall & VPN solution, which securely links all these offices (each has a dedicated Internet connection). Synchronization across the offices happens such that a travelling user gets access to his/her home directory, mail, personal web page and other features using the same username/password. Secure file transfers are used to transfer source code.

    Savings:Software license fees saved exceeds Rs. 17 lakhs (US $39500)

    Yukthi was approached by this customer when his company's licensing costs for email access (on Lotus Notes) became too prohibitive. Yukthi lived up to the expectations of the client by providing a leased line for Internet access and point-to-point dedicated linking two other offices. The email solution entailed a server in each of the three offices, supporting SMTP, POP3, LDAP based central address book and Web mail access.

    Savings: Software license fees saved exceeds Rs. 2 lakhs (US $4600).

    Yukthi helped this client to completely migrate their 15 nodes on Windows platform to Linux.

    - Desktops have Linux, StarOffice and Netscape Communicator.
    - The server is configured for NIS and NFS; this acts as a file server &   provides central authentication.
    - The server is also configured for dial-on-demand using an ISDN line. It   fetches mail & distributes it locally. It also relays outgoing mail.

    The reason for this shift is the enormous cost saving that Linux allows on software licencing fees, hardware upgradation and other aspects. They also have the benefit of a far more stable setup, free from virus attacks.

    Savings: Software License fees saved ~ 2.5 lakhs (US $6000).

   
    Yukthi was initially engaged to resolve an email related issue. Having successfully completed the task, the customer decided to outsource their email server administration to Yukthi, which is being done remotely from Bangalore. Yukthi provides support 12 hrs a day, 7 days/week.

    Yukthi provides 24x7 helpdesk services, including mail server administration and Windows 2000 server administration. Problems are escalated internally for closure, keeping critical systems running without the customer getting hassled. Needless to say, ensuring uptime is of extreme importance.

    The development centre of this client faced a crisis situation when the System Administrator resigned with just three days of notice. In light of this scenario, Yukthi was called in to take over the centre's system administration. Yukthi took responsibility for the setup, which included an Internet leased connection, Firewalls, Solaris servers, Windows NT servers, ClearCase and Netscape Enterprise Server. Though their corporate policy (set at their Tokyo HQ) forbade outsourcing their system administration activity, the company nevertheless decided to retain Yukthi's services on a long term, for competence, integrity and timely resourcefulness.
